In this episode, we conclude our series answering unitarians by answering another of their most common defensive moves when dealing with Trinitarians. What I call the word study defense.
It goes like this. You present a text that clearly teaches or supports a pillar of the Trinity, such as the deity of Christ. The Unitarian then goes on to tell you how some word in the text you are using can mean something else, just look over here, not at that text, yes, over here at this completely different text. And look! It’s got a different meaning here that doesn’t entail deity, so therefore it doesn’t mean that in your text either.
Yeah, this isn’t always a good strategy.
